I started this page a couple of days ago and finished it this morning. I was stumped after putting on the background and the title. I wanted an Italian feel to my page and knew what I wanted to do, but didn’t feel I could pull it off. I wanted my theme to be a quaint city; maybe in Florence? I wanted whoever looked at my page for it to speak to them and hopeing that I captured this beautiful country. Visiting Italy is #1 on my bucket list. Hopefully one of these days I’ll get there
- I used Faber-Castell Gelatos on the background
- Faber-Castell Big Brush Markers on building, plants and accents
- Black Archival Ink for the Title
- White Gel Pen for detail
- WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals Stamp Set for stamping my leaves.
I shop my LSS for my supplies if she carries them. If not, my other shopping is done at Simon Says Stamp and Blick Art Materials.
I made this card for my brother who is not doing to well physically. He lives 8 hours away and I think of him a lot. We were very close growing up and still are.
I used WPlus9 Fresh Cut Containers Stamp Set, Twine, Broken China Distress Ink, Forest Moss Distress Ink, Distress Markers and a Claudine Hellmuth #2 round brush.
I really enjoyed making this card through the whole process. I’m a novice water color artist and using the stamps make me feel like an expert LOL! WPlus9 has quite a few of these stamps for a water color effect.
*Disclaimer: I do not get anything for recommending these products or sites. These are just products and companies that I love and have had great success with. When I can’t find product at my local scrapbook store, I’ll head on over to Simon Says Stamp first because of their great customer service and the timely manner in which you recieve your goodies. If they are both sold out, I’ll shop Amazon.
Hello my friends,
Here is my impression of Tim Holtz’ 12 Tags! This month is a coffee container. I don’t have the Sizzix one, so I used the one stamp I had on hand and cut it out by hand. Mine is from Art Impressions Card Keepers # UM4074 and I wanted it to look my favorite coffee place……where else but Starbucks???? My favorite drink there is a Triple Venti White Chocolate Mocha with 2 Pumps Classic!! Yummy:)
Happy crafting everyone!
Today I’m sharing my journal page for the 4th of July. I know…..it’s not even here yet! But, I’m preparing for it so it’s the same right? So, what are your plans for the 4th? We will cook out, enjoy family and friends and then head on out to watch the fireworks.
My oldest daughter wants to come down to visit the week of the 4th and I’m so excited! We email each other every day, but it’s just not the same as having her here. Don’t get me wrong, I love getting my daily mail LOL! But she is a hoot and we get along so well.
Today’s art work is for The Daily Marker. Please head on over and check out the blog and see what’s going on. You are challenged to color something everyday for 30 days even if it’s only for a few minutes. You can head on over here.
Hello crafty friends,
This is my card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. I white embossed the stars from the “Falling Stars Stamp” from SSS and the “thanks” die from Mama Elephant. For the “thanks”, I die cut four and glued them on top of one another then put foam dots on the back to raise it even further off the paper. I also used “Tilda catching stars” from Magnolia. I used Tim Holtz distress inks for the background and I colored Tilda with Copics.
When I was making this card, I felt Tilda was giving “thanks” to the Lord above for His many blessings. Even though this is how I felt, I have no scripture / christian sayings stamp sets to use for my inside sentiment. I guess I’m going to have to purchase some.
Good luck to everyone participating in the challenge!
Been working on this watercolor Hummingbird for days!!! I was getting stuck on the wings and had to have my daughter help me out. For some reason, the feather dimension on the wings eluded me. This Hummingbird was inspired by Jennifer Rzasa and I first saw her while taking the Watercolor Class with Online Card Classes by Jennifer McGuire and Kristine Werner. The only “art” classes that I’ve taken have been Copic classes through Imagine International? out of Eugene OR and with Suzanne Dean. But, my daughter, well actually both my daughters and my husband have been art majors. I had actually started out as a quilter, then added scrapbooking and now that I actually paint and do art media, I feel like a well rounded artist.
I’m actually glad for this 30 day challenge. It really motivates me to do something creative everyday! I hope by seeing this post, that it inspires you to do some creative activity today.
Thought I’d share my latest. I was inspired by Sandy Allnock. I changed the craft table and I need to add a sentiment. Went looking for 8 x 10 frames today and a sentiment and came home empty handed….*sigh*.
I used Tim Holtz “Bird Crazy” stamp set, Moulin Du Roy Hot Press water color paper, Derwent Inktense 12 count pencils. Sharpie white poster paint pen and Claudine Hellmuth paint brushes in 2,4,6 & 9 sizes. For the craft table in the center, I googled “craft table images” and found this one. I shrunk it to 70% and copied the image. You can get the actual table at Dick Blick’s I believe.
I finished my Dumbo journal page. I added bubbles from where he was taking a bubble bath in the cartoon. He is so cute and I knew I needed to add him to my journal.
I went to Blick’s Art on friday and got a few things that I needed for my journal. I got 13 Faber Castell Big Brush Pitt artist pens and some Copic refills and nibs. I also ordered a MISTI ( Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented ) from My Sweet Petunia and got it today in the mail!!! Talk about service! I’ve never gotten anything that fast from ordering online. Marker Pop comes in a handy second and they are excellent with their customer service.
Well, I’ve been off my game for a few days, and started the birds last night and a water color hummingbird. I think I’m going to go finish what I started 🙂 May the rest of your day be blessed.
